Tim Horsburgh ASSOCIATE PRODUCER

Tim Horsburgh has been working with Horizons since moving to Chicago in 2006. He has assumed an array of both creative and administrative roles on What’s On Tap and Last Comic Trying. Tim is currently a full time member of the Kartemquin Production staff but continues his long term relationship with Horizons Communications Group as a writer and consulting producer.

Tim was born in India, but raised in Berkshire, England. He was awarded a Master of Research in Humanities and Cultural Studies, with distinction, from the London Consortium in 2005, and holds a first-class BA in History from University College London in 2003. His essay ‘What is it like to be a Music Video? Metamorphosis and the work of Chris Cunningham’ was published in 2007 by the online academic journal Static.

In the summer of 2003, he co-produced and directed a six-week ‘film expedition’ to Guyana, South America, creating a trilogy of digital short films exploring the lives of subjects such as rural villagers, jungle-river fishermen, and Amerindian cowboys as they grappled with the encroaching modernization of the country. The shorts were shown in venues across London, and selected for the 2005 Bangkok Experimental Film Festival.

Tim has also worked as a volunteer with the Chicago Film Archives and the Chicago Botanic Garden.
